I was at Adi’s school open house today evening.
Just seems like I walked down these steps to visit his new school last Spring.
Where did time flow? A year has passed by. This school year is almost done.
As this beautiful evening draws to an end, it is time for me to climb up these flight of stairs.
Kids say the darndest things.
Kids do the funniest things.
Kids make the cutest things.
Ari made me this beautiful card for Mother’s Day.
The flower petals are made from color prints from his little finger tips.
I have no doubts. I am the luckiest girl on earth.
Symmetry in nature – what a wonder?!
This little plant (in the front yard) caught my attention as I was rushing to pack the kids up in the car to take them to Tamil School today morning. I paused for a second to admire the symmetry and felt compelled to take a picture of it.
Adi gave me a stern look and said: “Amma, You have been nagging us all morning to get ready and get in the car. Now you stand there enjoying that silly little plant and then clicking pictures of it. Get in the car – NOW.”
The most general law in nature is equity-the principle of balance and symmetry which guides the growth of forms along the lines of the greatest structural efficiency. – Herbert Read
I got in the car and then proceeded to give the kids one of my long lectures. The topic was “stop & enjoy the little things in life”.
What little thing did you enjoy today? A leaf, a plant, a fruit, a conversation, a smile, a hug, some hot chai. What was it?
More Magazine asked me how I blow off steam?

Here was my response:
Recall a Positive Memory: I have several pictures that are captured in my mind’s-eye. How stunning the landscape looked from Mt. Dana Peak at 13,000 feet or how the clouds were just an arms’ reach away when I stood on Mt. Whitney Summit at 14,500 feet. I only have to close my eyes for just a tiny bit and transport myself to the sights, smell and sounds of sheer beauty–to a place where I felt very much alive and at peace. Then, I come back, re-energized and ready to take on the world.
How do you blow off steam?
