On Soaking in the Rain

Sometimes we should express our gratitude for the small and simple things like the scent of the rain, the taste of your favorite food, or the sound of a loved one’s voice. – Joseph B. Wirthlin

Ari is trying to the catch the raindrops on his nose or tongue.

My brain is trying to say to him – “STOP. You are going to get sick if you stand in the rain.”

My heart is trying to say to my brain – “STOP. These are the little pleasures of growing up. Let him be.”

And, the brain vs the heart battle continues.

Today, the heart won. Just for a few minutes.
And, then my brain proceeded to take over, walk him inside and dry him.
